CANTON, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – SARTA CEO Ralph Lee is saying “thank you” to voters who passed the transit system’s .25% sales tax renewal issue on Tuesday.
Lee in a written statement says they took seriously the failure of a May proposal to raise the tax slightly, and came back this month with strictly a renewal levy for ten years.
54% of voters said “yes”.
Lee says hundreds of county residents depend on SARTA transportation to get them to work and school, doctor’s appointments and the grocery store.
